Ladera Resort

Ladera could not be more perfect. My husband and I visited for 3 nights and regret not staying here our entire time in St. Lucia. The views, property and staff cannot be beat! We stayed in a paradise ridge room and felt so lucky to be so close to the Pitons. The room was stunning and incorporated into nature perfectly and felt completely private. We loved it so much we ate all of our breakfasts and lunches there and exclusively used our huge private pool! We also loved the round trip hike on property that gave you private views of the pitons. Everyone we encountered including our butlers, the pool boys, and servers were so kind and anticipated all of our needs without having to ask. We also did a free yoga class on property and the teacher was kind, funny and gave us a very nice class. I cannot recommend this hotel more. You may be ruined for future hotels!

World heritage location is well earned. Beauty of natural setting matched by genuine warmth of hotel personnel and sharing of rich local culture through wood carving, cuisine, music and weaving. Room was wonderful with open veranda large hot spring fed pool, stunning view by day and night and total privacy. The eco hotel offers exquisite experiences while honoring pride of place and respect for the natural and human environment. Gracious, generous and unforgettable hosts included Consierge Caroline, Chef Nigel and Chef Germaine, dining room staff Lee, Lorne, Sherma, and Isha, Tali who gave us a garden tour, Abigail and Karina at reception, and the levr spa staff .

Top of the Five Star Resorts!! The setting is so peaceful in the rain forest of St. Lucia. The team members could not have been more lovely. Thanks to Sonja and all the crew!! I wish I could office from the main lodge patio with daily cocktails. The view is out of this world. The food was excellent and I highly recommend the fish fry on Thursday nights!! Breakfast in your room is also a great choice - coffee in the pool!! The rum cellar is a fun stop as well. We enjoyed multiple treatments at the spa. Easy access to hiking, the waterfall, and the quaint town of Soufreie. I could not have relaxed more in our splash pool. And extra cheers to my favorite valet, Rohan. He acquired me a pool float for extra leisure!! The view of the stars while floating after dark is an experience I will never forget. Thankful for this fabulous resort to celebrate my 50th birthday. We will be back!!

Ladera is an outstanding resort, both for the incredible views from all the accommodations and the restaurant and for the warm hospitality and attention from all the staff. We were wished a happy anniversary by many of the staff (we were celebrating our 40th); staff always greeted us with a friendly "Hello, Mr and Mrs.___how are you?" -the concierge was always ready to graciously help us with anything -with a genuine smile! The butlers who helped us move in, unlock our door when we locked ourselves out, and offer us rides everywhere on the resort (we generally preferred walking) were really wonderful, greatly contributing to the feeling of being well cared for in this beautiful resort. We loved the location of the resort, being on the ridge 1.000 feet above the Caribbean Sea and right by the Pitons. Many excursions are just a short taxi ride or shuttle from the resort. And the food in the restaurant there was excellent!

Probably the most beautiful place my husband and I will ever stay at! The people are so friendly, welcoming, the breakfast each morning was amazing. We took the on property hike and saw amazing views of the pitons, explored the treehouse, took the shuttle down to the beautiful Sugar Beach, had an amazing spa day at leve, and enjoyed the other amenities like the saunas. There was one morning, after a huge rainstorm, we found a kitten in our room! Don’t know where she came from, but she made it such a memorable and special trip for us! Downsides: 1.) The turn down services would come an hour or two after what was scheduled, and the one night we skipped turn down services (because it was 8:30 and we were about to sleep), we got eaten alive!! Which I guess comes with the territory when it is open concept. 2.) I wish we stayed longer!!!

Everything about this trip was amazing. We stayed in a Hilltop suite and had the best view and experience. They do their best to space out the guests to foster a sense of privacy and quietness. The staff was always ready to assist regardless of the hour and would know when you were out in order to come by and perform turndown service.

Dinner was great, the staff were very professional and friendly, the food was great, drinks were great everything was 10/10, I would like to give a special shout out too Miss Cynthia, she kept checking on us and making sure that everything was going smoothly, If anyone is looking to visit I would highly recommend having her as your waitress. Will definitely be coming again

Our travel agent Angel, recommended this place, once she showed me the view, we told her sign us up. One we got to the resort we were greeted with cool lavender towels, they felt good after a long day of travel. Ariela, gave us a tour of the property and then brought us to our gorgeous room. I was a little worried about the three wall open room (critters) but we only had a few birds stop by to hopefully get a snack from breakfast. Breakfast is included and we enjoyed getting room service so we could relax in the morning. Dasheene, the main restaurant, had amazing farm to table cuisine, loved the fresh juice smoothies in the morning. We got to meet the head chef, Nigel on our last day and told him how nice it was for them to support local farmers and fisher folks. The Hideaway rum bar was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed talking to Hilarius about the spiced rum he makes. Ninus and Curlineous gracious host and super friendly. On of my favorite things that we experienced at the resort was the two plant walks given to us by Caroline and one of the gardeners, Tail. They were so excited to talk about the beautiful and medicinal plants that grow in the area. On our last evening, Tail brought some trats to our doorstep. Sadly, I had leave some of it behind since we were flying. I did get to taste the soursop, mango and cacao, so fun. Speaking of Caroline, she thinks of everything and will make sure your stay is comfortable and fun. On our last day, we met the local carver, Boniface. His carvings are beautiful, we even got our initials carved on a pole near the restaurant and planted some flowers with Tail. Our room had an amazing view and we loved the pool in our room, but it's the people at Ladera that make it so special. I was literally crying our last day there. We hope to visit again soon.

We LOVED our room (Suite S) with the open wall design. We felt completely safe, had only one bug, and enjoyed the occasional bird visitors to our room whom were friendly and well behaved. The view of the Pitons from our room was incredible - so gorgeous!!! We used our private plunge pool every day, but also enjoyed the property's unique multi-level hot tub. We hiked the trail on the property three times; it was always well maintained and provided gorgeous views of the Pitons. The four-story tree house along the hike is a must see! The garden tour provided by Ray was a true highlight. In addition to the tropical flowers, Ray pointed out the fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices grown on the property and served fresh each day to guests. No wonder the food was so delicious! There was no shortage of staff and staff were so friendly, kind, and helpful. Special kudos to the following staff who went out of their way to make our visit perfect in every way - Samjay, Alvin, Davie, Camilla, Ray, Ariela, Caroline, Lorne, Marana and Yvette. Bravo, Ladera Resort!!

After weathering a cancelled flight we quickly forgot it due to this beautiful resort and incredibly accommodating staff. Waking up every morning to an open air view of the Pitons is without equal. The staff from the reception to the food service to the butlers were genuinely friendly and helpful. Our activities thru the resort were well supported with transport and communication. We beached, sailed, bird watched, and toured the quant town of Soufriere without any concerns. This was the best island experience we have had.

Ladera is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt peaceful, serene, and deeply connected to nature. The hilltop suites are completely open-air, allowing you to feel fully immersed in the surrounding rainforest and the breathtaking views of the Pitons. Our suite was absolutely perfect. The craftsmanship throughout the room was stunning — beautiful woodwork, intricate carvings in the pillars and posts, and thoughtful details everywhere you looked. The toiletries were spectacular, and the refrigerator was generously stocked with complimentary beverages including soda, Piton beer, ice, Nespresso always stocked as well The bed was slightly firmer than what we’re used to at home but incredibly comfortable. The beautiful frame sits higher, which somehow enhances the feeling of being perched up in the mountains. One of our favorite parts of the experience was simply enjoying the fresh breeze, the passing rain showers, and the sounds of nature. Despite the suites being completely open-air, there were minimal insects, which honestly surprised us. The staff thoughtfully sprays for insects during turndown service and lights mosquito repellent coils that smelled divine. The room also included complimentary essential oil bug spray, and after-bite spray. Of course, you cannot experience nature this closely without a few insects — but Ladera manages it beautifully. The pool was cleaned daily and always pristine. The food was incredible. One highlight was a private dining experience with Chef Nigel that included a tour of the property to pick fresh fruits and ingredients used in the meal — such a unique and memorable experience. Breakfast was phenomenal. We especially loved the banana pancakes, healthy smoothies, smoked salmon, fresh pastries, and delicious breakfast meats. For lighter bites in the lounge, the chicken wings were fantastic (and we say that as people from Buffalo!). At the Hideaway Rum Bar, our favorites were the cheese board and seafood board featuring smoked salmon, cooked shrimp, fried calamari, tuna ceviche, and conch salad with cocktail sauce, garlic mayo, parsley, and mango salsa — all served with plantain or breadfruit chips. The Thursday night fish fry was another highlight and such a fun way to experience local culture. Most importantly, the staff at Ladera were extraordinary. Every single team member was warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making our stay special. A few wonderful people we had the pleasure of meeting included Gillibar, Jovanna, Jergen, Hilarios, Devonte, Jennifer, and Lorne. I’ve seen some reviews mention the proximity to the airport. It’s important to understand that St. Lucia is a mountainous island, and only small portions of the island are flat enough for an airport. By choosing St. Lucia, you’re choosing winding roads that lead to breathtaking beauty and adventure. Nearly all of the island’s most special resorts are at least 45 minutes from the airport — and their remote locations are exactly what makes them so magical. Every member of the Ladera team is clearly dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience. We left feeling relaxed, inspired, and already dreaming about returning.

This resort was absolutely the best! The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. The room was stunning. We loved the 3 wall concept. Truly sleeping outside with nature. The bugs were not an issue while sleeping because of the net around the bed. The bed was comfortable and there were ear plugs available to block out the noise of nighttime birds and insects. Every morning we saw beautiful rainbows and every evening, beautiful sunsets. The food at the restaurant was delicious. It’s recommended to have reservations for dinner but we were able to sneak in a couple times without when our original plans fell through. We recommend checking out both beaches. The Soufriere experience was also wonderful. Also, hotel chocolat is right across the street and worth a visit. Also you cannot skip the spa while here. We did a couples massage and it was the best massage either of us had ever had!

We used a travel agent to book this for us. She booked everything. We are glad she did because when we arrived in St Lucia, we had someone at the airport holding a sign with my wife's name on it. We were expedited through customs. We bypassed at least 100 people. We had our bags carried to our Lexus driver. I had my first Piton lager on the ride. When we arrived, the VIP treatment continued. We were amazed how large our cabin was. The view was spectacular. We saw many rainbows from our deck. They have 110 volt outlets. Wifi worked well. I was able to VPN into work. Their restaurant is farm to table, trying to use mostly locally grown produce. I recommend room service breakfast. They offer a tremendous amount of activities. We will return someday to try more. The resort also does plant walks, which we recommend if you like plant. We frequented the rum bar, the Hideaway. What makes this place special is how nice everyone is. No issues getting back to the airport. The St Lucia airport can require a lot of walking. We used stairs to exit and then board the plane.

Ladera is hands down one of the most beautiful resorts I have ever been to. The views from not only your room but every single place you went was breathtaking. Even though your room is an open air concept we never heard our neighbors only the birds and frogs chirping which was my favorite part in the morning and evening. The staffs hospitality was unmatched! They were all so kind from the start and just continued throughout our entire stay! I have heard some rough stories about the transportation from the airport to some resorts but Ladera is close enough to the airport that the transportation was quick and not too bad at all! The staff keeps the resort looking amazing at all times and upkeep not only the grounds but make sure your room is clean and ready before bed every night on top of regular housekeeping during the day. I would 100% stay at Ladera again and recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful resort with some of the most amazing views and staff we have ever encountered!

The Ladera Resort is located on a hillside overlooking the famous pitons and Jalousie Plantation Beach. It has to be one of the best views in St Lucia. It's quite isolated so it's very quiet and relaxing though there is some traffic noise from the nearby road. We stayed in one of the smaller, less expensive suites. Compared to more traditional 5 star resorts it isn't particularly luxurious and, apart from the private plunge pool, not especially well equipped. That said, we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The suites are designed to be at one with nature so they are open to the elements on one side. This does enable spectacular views and the sense of being connected to the environment but it also allows free access to the local wildlife including (as I discovered to my discomfort) some very aggressive mosquitoes. Bring mosquito repellants and bite treatments with you. The service was mostly good but on a couple of occasions we experienced lengthy delays in the dining room when it wasn't especially busy, e.g. waiting almost an hour for our breakfasts one morning. That said, the staff in all departments were generally very friendly and helpful. The food was the biggest disappointment. Everything looked good on the menus but the food often failed to live up to expectations. For example, one evening my wife had a sirloin steak that was mostly fat and my blackened fish was overcooked and dry. Also, the vegetables were undercooked and the food was warm rather than hot. This isn't really good enough for a 5 star luxury resort. The main pool area isn't very inviting. The pool and the sunbathing deck are quite small and are overlooked by the restaurant so I didn't use them. Fortunately the hotel offers a regular shuttle service to two nearby beaches. I can recommend Malgretoute beach which was quiet and relaxing. You pay a reasonable 40 US dollars for 2 sunbeds for the day and refreshments are available from the Harmony Restaurant. In spite of the negatives I enjoyed my short stay at the Ladera Resort mainly due to its location, the staff and overall vibe.

Dining at Ladera for my birthday dinner with my friend was the best choice to celebrate. From the warmth of the customer service from Leah, Brett and Jannelle, to the great taste of the food and the ambiance, I am still in awe. I have absolutely no regrets! The chicken salad for the appetizer was like no other, the mix of veggies combined with the chicken was just delicious. The lamb rack for my main course was juicy and fall-off-the-bone soft! Ladera owes me nothing!! I will surely be back!

From our arrival introduction with Ariela, to shuttles with Delvin to the beach, to our departure with Murnet, the people at Ladera were phenomenally gracious, kind, and willing to assist any way possible. The location is top notch. Our room was completely open to outside on the ocean side which was lovely, like living in a treehouse and the view is spectacular. Meals were slow paced and relaxing with several options of restaurant choices and daily specials. The hotel is truly farm to table as our garden tour (definitely take this tour!) with Ray soon showed us. They grow the vast majority of the food they serve in the restaurants on-site - all fresh & delicious. So many little hidden treasures - the hiking trail, the treehouse, and they even set up a Superbowl party for guests in the game room. I would like to see them add art classes - like a sip & paint in their local art gallery taught by some of their local artists. Upon our arrival, my husband needed emergency healthcare for a minor medical issue. They hotel doctor instructed the hotel and we had a driver within minutes and professional care at the Soufriere Hospital. Both the hotel and the doctor phoned several times to check in on us. Really just exemplary.

Wow, what an incredible place. We stayed here for our honeymoon. The best sunset view I've ever seen. We were in the Villa La Fleur, which was probably the coolest place we've ever stayed. We were not expecting just how incredible it is. The infinity pool was large enough to do laps in, and the view was amazing. All the doors opened up to the views attached, while still having incredible privacy. The staff were excellent... I am going to try and name some of them, please excuse the misspelling! There were several ladies at the Reception desk who were very patient with me and went above and beyond- Ariel(?), and Shanua(?). Additionally "V" from room service was accommodating without being pushy, always with a smile. Our 'bulter' was also great but I can't recall his name off the top - something that sounds like Sesaid? I wish I could put more names to the faces of every staff member who was helpful, kind, etc. The housekeeper made a beautiful display of towels into swans... all that to say, they all really put it on here, and it was a great stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ladera. The service was amazing and the setting at the island was even better. We loved waking up to the pitons every day and were very well cared for by the staff. We loved the Soufrière experience with mud baths and the snorkeling sunset tour with sea turtles and dolphins. Great way to spend our 30th anniversary. Thank you Ladera for a wonderful trip!

Highly recommend. The staff are the friendliest people in the world! The views are amazing and the three wall concept is such a relaxing experience. Leve spa was a delight (request Ester). Meals at Dashene were the best I’ve had in the Caribbean. Sulphur mud baths are like a 5 minute taxi ride away. Favorite island and resort in the Caribbean now and we’ve been to them all. Silly that it took us so long to get here but we don’t take connected flights. We will make an exception moving forward as our future trips to Caribbean will be to Ladera and St Lucia. Highly recommend Ladera
