1 Hotel Hanalei Bay

The 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay is a beautiful hotel located in one of the most extraordinary places on earth. Its views of Hanalei Bay and the Na Pali coast are breathtaking, and you get to experience them in virtually every room and while dining at the resort’s two main dining areas. From our room, we watched surfers in Hanalei Bay, the light shifting over the Na Pali coast and whales breaching in the ocean below. Breakfast was amazing (perhaps the best breakfast buffet we have ever had), as was the New Year’s buffet dinner and dining on creative sushi dishes and edamame at Welina Terrace while watching the sunset. There were thoughtful touches in every room, including lovely room key bracelets to decrease waste at hotel, personal water filter stations in each room and little surprises each night (like local chocolates etc). The facilities including the pool, spa and gym are top notch. We stayed there in the winter which is theoretically the “off-season,” but it was wonderful, and we were so happy to have stayed there/in the north, where the landscapes are unparalleled. The location and hotel are magical. We can’t wait to come back.

This hotel is truly magnificent. First of all, the location of it, being a short 40 ish minute drive from the airport, puts you into a very quiet but lively portion of the island. Unlike many of the areas of the island that are tourist heavy areas, this hotel does not see the foot traffic like others do. And because of this, driving was necessary to get around just about anywhere, but the valet parking and team for managing our vehicle was EXCEPTIONAL. The resort itself is elegant, but so fun and lively. Every detail of this hotel is magnificent, down to the aroma that fills the air around the entire resort. The service was consistently fantastic and the food was so so good. We ate at each portion of the resort and I could not point to one aspect of it that was better than the rest. This trip was for my wife and I on our honeymoon and we felt very special with so many special recognition and gifts throughout the week. The pool was maintained and was always so perfect. If we come back to Kauai, there is no resort I would rather stay at. I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone.

1Hotel Hanalei Bay really delivered, my family and I had one of the most luxurious and adventurous vacations ever. This was our last trip together before my oldest leaves for college this summer and I just can’t say enough about this hotel. Every detail, every staff interaction and every bite was memorable. One standout performer for us before, during and post stay was our guest relations/concierge contact from the 1Hotel, Vincent Barnett. Vincent single handedly performed miracles on a daily basis making, changing and recommending plans as we navigated weather and 3 teenagers who couldn’t make up their minds. We are just finishing up an incredible stay at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay from June 27 through July 3, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was exceptional. The valet team was consistently attentive, friendly, and incredibly efficient, making every arrival and departure effortless. A very special thank you goes to Vincent and the concierge team, who was absolutely outstanding. Vincent and the entire concierge staff provided some of the best service we’ve experienced at a luxury hotel. Whether it was securing hard-to-get restaurant reservations, arranging activities, or offering thoughtful local recommendations, everything was handled seamlessly. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made our vacation effortless and allowed us to simply relax and enjoy Kauai. Our room was absolutely gorgeous—beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and perfectly captured the relaxed luxury that makes this property so special. Waking up each morning to the breathtaking views and the beauty of Hanalei Bay was unforgettable. The property itself is simply spectacular. Every aspect of the resort is thoughtfully designed, from the lush tropical landscaping to the stunning pools and public spaces. It’s the perfect combination of world-class luxury and the natural beauty of Kauai. What truly distinguishes 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, however, is its people. Every team member we encountered genuinely cared about making our stay exceptional, and it showed in every interaction. Thank you again to Vincent, his outstanding concierge team, the wonderful valet staff, and everyone else who made our stay so memorable. We left already looking forward to our next visit.

Staff members like Melyssa (check-in), Noriah (food server), Ari (food and beverage manager), Christian (front desk manager) really showed me how 1 hotels elevate their brand. Their customer service is second to none, such great people. The entire property is incredible. But these incredible staff members above really made sure I was taken care of and it’s why I will continue to go to every 1 hotel property. They should seriously be promoted, or at the very least celebrated by the 1 hotel team as they really make the experience unforgettable.
