We had an incredible week at Ladera Resort. The views from our room as well as the restaurant are breathtaking. We just stayed in our room the first day to enjoy the views and the pool - so relaxing! The people are fabulous. The people and the service were one of the best we have experienced in our travels. They genuinely care about you and making your experience the best it can be. We loved the hiking trails right at the resort which was convenient. The treehouse and Rum Bar are unique! Plus, the town of Soufriere has so much to offer with tours of the mud baths, mineral baths, waterfalls and sulfer springs. We spent 2 days on Sugar Beach which was expensive to rent chairs & umbrella ($100 each person) but worth it for the blue water, white sand and resort drinks/food. We almost stayed at Sugar Beach Resort but so glad we stayed at Ladera - no experience is like it with no 4th wall and open to nature, fresh air and wonderful views. Highly recommend!

Review for Ladera Resort Our stay at Ladera Resort was absolutely unforgettable! Our suite was beyond incredible, with breathtaking views that felt like something out of a dream. The unique indoor/outdoor accommodations truly made for a once-in-a-lifetime experience—we felt completely immersed in the beauty of St. Lucia. Sugar Beach was just a short ride away, and the snorkeling there was stunning, with vibrant marine life and crystal-clear water. The food at the resort was delicious, though dinner service could be a bit slow at times. However, the impeccable service throughout our stay more than made up for it—10/10! If I could give 100 stars, I absolutely would. The excursions were well-organized, and the drivers were fabulous. I highly recommend the Soufrière Experience for a perfect mix of adventure and culture. We also loved the on-site hiking trail, which offered fantastic views. And after a day of exploring, the main pool was the perfect place to cool off and relax. A few standout experiences: The Friday night Fish Fry is an absolute must! It provided an authentic Saint Lucian meal served in traditional serve ware, making it a true cultural experience. We also loved the Tuesday evening country music performance—Allen Stone was an incredible singer with an engaging and fun performance that made the night extra special. Ladera is truly a magical place, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. If you’re looking for a luxurious, immersive, and unforgettable getaway, this is it!

Ladera is amazing - gorgeous location with the best views and a very well run hotel. From the moment of arrival until departure, all staff were welcoming and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. Our room with three walls had a stunning view and hot tub and was very comfortable. The swimming pool was cool but beautiful and the restaurant and bar had brilliant views and excellent food. The recently opened spa was lovely and the garden tour very interesting. We used the free beach shuttle to Sugar Beach which is beautiful with good snorkelling and swimming. The trails in the hotel grounds are well planned and give great views of the Pitons.

Wow. This was my second trip to Ladera. The first was in 2010 and they certainly have expanded and improved. They have expanded the dining area, added a spa, workout room and much more. It is still an intimate property at 37 rooms. If you are looking for a place to have romance or just relax and de-stress, this is it. All the staff were exceptional. They were helpful and always had a smile on their faces. And for a small resort, they had many folks to help with whatever I wanted or needed. Speical "shout out" to Cynthia and Shirma in the dining room, Rosemary in housekeeping, Ivan at the pool who saved me by retreiving a sandal when lit blew off the pool deck (it happens, he told me) and Tallee who took my wife on a great tour of their gardens. If you are looking for an ultimate destination with a real "carib" feel, this is the place to be.

Our first stay at the Ladera Resort was in February 2020 to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and we returned again to celebrate our 55th. Anyone who has ever stayed at the Ladera Resort has written about the majestic Pitons, the beautiful setting, the romantic rooms with the private pool, and the delicious food. Those were some of the reasons that we wanted to return, but the most important reason that we wanted to return to this resort is because of the people who work there. Christian Gandara is the general manager. He and his beautiful wife, Sonja, have been in this position for over six years. Their management style reflects the love they have for every inch of the property and their love for the people who work there. The turnover rate of their employees is almost non-existent - Mr. Eustace the property manager and Ms. Caroline have been there for decades. When we returned it was a homecoming! Our friends remembered us and we had never forgotten them - Scholastica, Rohan, Ray, Lee, Cindy, Darrel, Nicole, Davi, Chef Nigel, and Boniface the artist. The list goes on and on. So many exciting changes have happened since our first visit - a gorgeous Spa has been built and the magnificent tree house was built around the 300 year old mango tree. The gardeners work non-stop to keep the grounds, the flowers, the trees in perfect order - a Garden of Eden - here on earth. We hope to return in two years to enjoy the Ladera Resort again. It was a joy and we would recommend it so very highly to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. Rick and Vija Navarro

The Hilltop suite was wonderful- with a private pool we did not want to leave the room. When we did Everyone was friendly and helpful. Additionally we could schedule all the services -housekeepers-pool cleaning-mini bar restock and turn down service to take place when we were out of the room.

Overall great experience. Amazing room, hotel property and the staff were exceptional. Quiet and luxurious vacation. Food was great, waking up in nature while having great amenities. Plunge pool with view of both pitons. They go out their way to accomplish whatever you hope for.

Our Honeymoon stay at Ladera was incredible. The staff spares no detail and makes sure you feel comfortable and happy with your stay. Everyone goes out of their way to say hello and their smiles let you know they are truly genuine. Our time was filled with adventures: soufriere (mud bath), waterfalls, and snorkeling. We would love to highlight the following people: Caroline and Ariela provided excellent concierge service, Vianney, Jovanna, Leah, from waitstaff were amazing. Jeremy provided an excellent rum tasting experience and Ninus kept our glasses full of amazing cocktails. Shaquan is the best pool guy in town with wonderful local insights.

This resort is magical! The rooms with the open air, pool, and views were amazing. The food and customer service were top notch. I never went on vacation and spent that much time in my room. Amazing!! Highly recommend this beautiful resort for couples.

Where can I begin? Our stay was nothing short of magical. It was an amazing experience from the moment we stepped off of the plane, to our sad farewells on our last day. It took everything in my power not to have them drag me out of there crying, kicking and screaming. I didn't want to go. At the airport, we didn't have a hard time locating Vaughn holding the Ladera sign (he was right there at the exit as soon as you leave customs). When we got in the cab we were offered chilled beverages and got to relax and enjoy the 45 minute scenic ride. The check-in process was seamless! Sherin was there waiting for us, with the famous and delicious Ladera punch. She was an absolute sweetheart and laughed and celebrated with us upon our first look at our room. I got so excited walking to the room I managed to trip up the steps. What can I say? I'm a clumsy gal. Sherin was very kind about it and we laughed it off (thankfully i didn't drop my delicious punch). I must say that the hospitality at this resort is out of this world. We felt very familiar with everyone. It was my boyfriend's birthday and the staff kept addressing him by name and asking him how his birthday was going. He felt very special which makes me happy. The room was absolutely perfect. Beyond my expectations and even more spectacular than the pictures! Before arriving I was worried about hearing our neighbors or having them hear us but I never heard anyone else. It felt like we had the resort all to ourselves. It was fully booked for Valentine's day so I was pleasantly surprised that it still felt so intimate and secluded. We probably only saw about 3 or 4 other couples while we were walking around the property. We are introverts so if you're looking for a more private experience as opposed to a touristy busy one then this resort if definitely the place! Our room felt cozy despite their not being a 4th wall. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner privately in our suite next to our pool with the gorgeous view! The sunrise was my favorite thing to see. Imagine taking a morning dip in the pool under the cotton candy morning sky? Honey I thought I was dreaming. You can feel the breeze on your bare bumbum cheeks because no one else can see you on your private deck. I must have some good karma finally catching up to me. What a time to be alive! We experienced no issues with the water pressure or temperature in the shower. I'm an island girl and my man is a nature lover so the sounds of the night time didn't bother us at all. If anything it helped us sleep better! We kept the fountain on the whole time. We didn't even need the pool cleaner to come take out any leaves. Give us aaaall the nature honey! Mosquito bites are nothing, I barely got any. I will stop drop and roll the itching away (or you can use their after bite spray that they provide in the room). The room had everything we needed, including the friendly visits from the birds. I had my Snow White moments. We still ventured out and explored the property. We fully enjoyed the nature trail and all of the other amenities there. Talking to Jeremy at the Hideaway rum bar was like chopping it up with your cousin that you haven't seen in awhile. A lot of my friends have started following Ladera on IG because the pictures I shared were like something out of a movie. Listen Ladera folks, if you guys need an additional employee please let me know so that I can get my visa and come down there with yall. I want to go back tomorrow. I want to go back now. Really interesting small resort. Our Rainbow Suite was stunning and loved the heated private pool overlooking Pitons. Our suite actually had two bedrooms one open and one enclosed which was ideal. Amazing views throughout the suite. Very little privacy though. There isn't even a door to the bathroom. Expect some wildlife in your room and the birds are extremely loud, we ended up using the enclosed bedroom most of the time as birds and insects were so loud in the night. Yoga with Ansom was excellent. Had an outstanding massage even though it was very expensive at Ladera spa. Sorry I don't know the name of the massage therapist but he was a young man and he was brilliant, very firm massage like I asked for and I felt very comfortable. Main issue with the stay was we found the restaurant food very hit and miss and service and food times usually very slow. There's only one restaurant as it's a small resort and we found some of the food very bland and it's not cheap. Breakfast food also not great, omelette had very little flavour and same with french toast. We didn't have a single excellent meal there in a four day stay. One evening a vegetable pasta took almost an hour to come. Most of the staff were friendly and it had a nice community feel. They were also helpful sorting out excursions. They decorated the room especially and gave us complimentary champagne for our honeymoon which was a nice touch. I would prefer if the bathroom had an actual door, there was zero privacy and no noise insulation at all which isn't ideal when you're staying with another person. Our WiFi broke a couple of times during our stay as did the mobile phone they give you for butler and reception. This was annoying. Butlers don't unpack or pack for you which I found odd and disappointing as this seems a core service that butlers provide at other hotels both in St Lucia and elsewhere. Really liked the traditional St Lucian decor and artwork. We also enjoyed meeting different artists at the resorts little immersion studio and I bought a nice small sculpture.

This is one of the most challenging reviews I’ve written. It’s our 2nd time at Ladera and this trip was a mixed bag of extreme amazing areas and extreme disappointments. First things first. There is no better place to stay in the Caribbean if you’re looking for amazing landscape, tropical jungles, incredibly maintained hiking trails, and views of the Pitons are so insane your eyes can’t adjust to the fact that they are real. Ray, the head gardener for like ever at the resort is an absolute incredible human being. If you visit, seek him out, talk to him, learn about the property. He’s been involved in the planting and maintenance of virtually every plant on the resort. I’ve never been a place with such lush vegetation. Most of the fruits and vegetables you eat on resort come from the resort grounds… and Ray has secret “off menu” plants he loves to eat and tell you about as well. As we checked out we were told he won employee of the year last year and he absolutely deserves it. Take the time and hike the trails, look at all the fruit trees, watch the bees and humming birds feed at the feeders, it’s pretty cool. On to the housing. As you know this is a 3-wall unit, so wildlife will come into your room. On our first visit in 2023 we had a huge problem with mosquitoes attacking us all day and night. This visit we were SO HAPPY to not have that problem whatsoever. The netting around the bed was better, the mosquito repellant they burn in the rooms was better, and I think the fact that there was a bit more wind really helped. All in all, we were so so happy to not come home with bug bites! This trip we stayed up in the Paradise Ridge units and we really loved the layout better than our previous stay. The room was very well designed, roomy, the bathroom was huge and beautiful, the pool was heated (Ladera has some of the only heated pools in the entire Caribbean). Overall, we would absolutely stay in the PR suites again if we returned. The one new thing they added to the resort since our last stay was the Rum Bar. It’s an AMAZING addition to the resort. I’d highly recommend the resort moves it to the local artist vendor room (only used on Tuesdays) as the Rum Bar seems to be growing in popularity but is very very very small. Incredible addition to the resort that I commend the staff for adding! OK, now on to the two negatives. One minor and one major. Minor Negative: When we visited two years ago the huge beautiful spa wasn’t open. We were told “it’s opening in a few weeks”. Well, two years later, still no spa. It’s pretty disappointing as we were excited to get some treatments in there, especially after missing out two years ago and spending $2700/night on this trip. Major Negative: OK, I start this by saying food and drinks are very important to us. We cook a lot at home, consider ourselves foodies, and when spending thousands of dollars a night at an all inclusive, expect the food and bev service to be high level, especially since Ladera boasts so much about how amazing Chef Nigel is. Two years ago it was some pretty good food, this visit it was some of the worst food and bev we’ve experienced, especially for a room that cost us $2700 per night. I know chef has been there for 20 years, so maybe he’s just tired and needs some youth in the kitchen to liven things up. I don’t know, but that’s no small amount of money to have the quality of food we had served to us. Let me break it down a bit because it wasn’t all bad. Breakfast – The breakfasts in the one restaurant they have on site were pretty solid. The menu hasn’t really changed at all in 2 years which is pretty boring, but the food they bring out is above average breakfast. Make sure you try the banana jam as it’s the best we’ve ever had. Lunch / Room Service – More disappointment as the menus haven’t really changed at all in the last two years. Where’s the creativity? This resort is supposed to have a renowned chef, yet we’re serving the exact same food day after day year after year? It’s boring! The room service and lunch menus at the restaurant are exactly the same. So after two days, we got bored of eating the same food over and over again. If you’re only going to have one place to eat, and charge $2700 a day, you gotta make the food fun. We had previously been at Cap Maison before coming to Ladera and their food is so much better in quality, flavor, and originality. At Ladera nothing was seasoned, the bread for our sandwiches was rock hard, everything was pretty bland, there just doesn’t seem to be any love coming from the kitchen. They also got two of our orders wrong which was disappointing but we just ate it and went on with our day because the meals take such a long time that you’re ready to leave and get back to your villa. The best bite from the lunch menu was the grilled vegetables and the St. Lucian Accra. Dinner – The worst meal service all three days at the resort. It was strange, the restaurant appeared to be in its first week of service, that’s how off everything was. We showed up for our 730pm reservation and were told we couldn’t be sat due to the restaurant being full (they take guests from outside the resort as well). I guess reservations for $2700/night guests don’t matter because we weren’t sat until 830pm. Dinner took until well after 10pm and we were one of two tables left, it wasn’t a fun vibe. On our 2nd night they released a new menu… and were out of the two things we ordered. What’s the point of putting out a new menu if you’re out of things on it? Go to the market, get fresh food, and put out a menu based on what you do have, not what you don’t have. Dinners took foreverrrrrrrr. 2+ hours for 3 courses. They say your all-inclusive comes with 4, but the soup course isn’t a real thing. They say you’ll have two choices, they only had one, and it was the same soup all 3 nights with one ingredient change the 3rd night. The best thing we ate was the Lamb Shank but everything else was forgettable. Most of the food was bland, the fish was all very fishy in taste (I normally eat fish every meal when on vacay and stopped after half our stay), and every night the only fish to choose from was barracuda and kingfish. I’m the person that takes a picture of EVERY dish of EVERY meal on vacation and the last two days I just had no interest. We skipped dessert the last two dinners because a) we were just so tired of being in the restaurant for such a long time and b) they were so insanely sweet that we couldn’t eat more than 2 bites. The martinis were really really sweet this trip as well. I also thought it was strange that everyone knew we were there for my girlfriend’s birthday and no one did anything special for it for any of the meals. Worth noting, the best soup of the entire stay wasn’t even served in a restaurant, it was served to guests who visited the local artist event on Tuesday. It was fresh, light, full of flavor and St. Lucian heritage. Even the staff raved about how they race to the event at 5pm when it closes to try and get some if there’s leftovers. That’s the type of food the restaurant should be serving. Ladera would be wise to bring in a culinary director to evaluate the program, even if just on a consulting level. Cap Maison is putting on a clinic of how to run a food and bev department and Ladera is falling far behind. Shop locally, get some exciting ingredients, make some fun specials each night that are packed with flavor and St. Lucian flavors! Having a section of “Creole Specials” on the menu and being “out” of all of them makes no sense. Having no nightly specials when you’re running the same menu each night makes no sense. Not for $2700/night. My final suggestion comes to the Butlers. The room has no a/c, has a small fridge, and has no 4th wall. Why not just bring a new bucket of ice to the room a few times a day with some drinks? To have to request ice an drinks multiple times a day makes it where drinking and relaxing in the room isn’t fun. Every time we asked for something they brought it within 30-45 minutes, with a smile, with great service… but don’t make us have to ask. For other resorts in the $2000+/night category, the butlers get to know what their guests like, and take care of them without having to be asked to. I’d love to see that level of service added to Ladera. Overall – Would we visit again? Yes. There is no better view in the Caribbean and honestly, it’s such an amazing property/view, they could have no food even offered and people would still show up. If we visited Lucia again next year though, we’d only go to Cap Maison. That said, Ladera will always be sold out because of their views, but I’d like for them to not rest on the service and quality just because they’re sold out. Inspire to be the best overall package on the island, right now that isn’t the case. We will absolutely return, but it won’t be for a few years. Time to go see other islands, learn about other cultures, and see some new areas. I hope our next visit to St. Lucia includes Ladera, it’s a property I’d love to see again. We’ll be keeping an eye on it from afar as it’s a place we truly want to go back to.

If you are looking for a relaxing get away and being in touch with nature, look no further than Ladera! My husband and I recently stayed here in the beginning of January. Not only were we met with the most stunning views and accommodations, but with the most incredible staff. I traveled while 20 weeks pregnant, and I have never felt more at ease. Front desk staff (especially Tanisha) were always looking out and making sure we were comfortable during our stay. Definitely take advantage of the yoga classes with stunning views (yay Anson!), and don't miss out on breakfast (ask for a chocolate croissant). Pool chairs were limited at Ladera, however they offered free shuttles to 2 local beaches. They have a partnership with one of the beaches and we were very well taken care of during our day trip. If you are weary of being too close to nature, do not worry. We did have some tiny frogs and lizards in our room, but never in our bed! There is a net surrounding the bed and the staff uses incense to keep most other things away. We will definitely come back to stay in the future!

Everyone we met, who works at the hotel, was delightful. They all made our stay a complete joy. Caroline in conceirge was so knowledgeable and a complete ray of sunshine. She has been 37 years at the hotel which says it all. Ray the gardener gave me a tour of the grounds. He is so passionate about his work and plans for the garden. The view from our room was incredible. The food was delish!!! Come stay here. It’s amazing.

We were close to everything we wanted to do and concierge ordered taxis which made getting around very easy. The onsite trail is beautiful. The only downside is the bugs. We expected it being open air but we left covered (I think ant bites). Ladera does everything they can to keep the bugs away but it’s inevitable. It didn’t take away from the experience for us at all, just something to note! Overall an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful property, exceptionally hospitable staff and a very good dining room. Shuttles or taxis to nearby beach and attractions is convenient. The views from the room and our private pool are amazing as was sleeping in open air. 7 days of bliss!

If you stop reading here and are debating staying at Ladera, hit that book button, you won't regret it. STAFF The kindest team of people work here. Every single person we encountered went above and beyond to ensure that our stay here was nothing short of magical. Their warmth and service is unmatched to any place I've ever stayed. We had a rough time getting from our previous honeymoon stop to St. Lucia (ferry problems, nothing to do with the hotel) and Ariella calmly and lovingly talked two honeymooners down from a meltdown. She ensured we would get to the hotel safe and sound, and truly saved the day. Kelly in the spa gave me the best massage I've ever had (and I love massages and go frequently). The entire spa team oozed warmth and professionalism, it was a highlight of my stay. Darrel and the rest of the butler team were so involved in making sure we were comfortable and happy (but how could we not be). Dave the pool guy was as knowledgeable and friendly as could be. Truly every single person we encountered made our trip a little bit better. FOOD The resort was so stunning, we hated the idea of leaving it, even for a meal. Luckily, we had Dasheene. Each meal was exceptional, the variety was spectacular, and the restaurant itself was breathtaking. Each meal felt like an experience, so budget time to enjoy and relax. ATMOSPHERE/ROOM We stayed in one of the Paradise Ridge suites, and all my friends and family have been subjected to either video or facetime tours of the room. Waking up, looking at the pitons and over the water was incredibly peaceful, I could have stayed in the room the entire time we were there and I would have been unbelievably happy. EXCURSIONS I could have stayed in the room, but was very glad we left. We did the soufriere experience and had the best time. The personal tour was relaxing, well paced, and let us see so much of the island in one morning. Next time we come back, we'll hopefully have time to do more (though I will need to read this as a reminder that it's worth leaving my room). All in all, just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to the Ladera team. This is a trip my husband and I will be talking about for years to come.

Within hours of arrival at Ladera, we were talking about our "next trip". The resort is serene and intimate (only 37 rooms), with amazing views of the Pitons and Sugar Beach. We stayed in an open-air Gros Piton Suite and were thrilled with the all-inclusive accommodations. The staff are welcoming, attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The on-site restaurant Dasheene served excellent meals and drinks with a great touch of local flavor. The well-maintained grounds are like walking through a botanical garden full of flowering shrubs and greenery - hummingbirds were everywhere! We did the onsite nature hike which was moderately challenging - lots of steps and elevation with amazing views. One evening we walked across the street to Hotel Chocolat for dinner which was also delicious. There is a free hotel shuttle to Sugar Beach and Malgretoute Beach from the resort. The spa looked amazing and I wish we'd had another day in our trip to take advantage of it (we were there only 3 nights). I can't rave enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at Ladera. We WILL be back and I'm recommending to all my friends and family!
