I am writing this review months after our stay at the Belmond Caruso because we have never—and likely will never—experience a more special place. Every single day, we think about the incredible time we had there. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. This hotel goes beyond an ultra-luxury experience—it transcends the typical 5-star standard with its thoughtful, personalized touches and impeccable attention to detail. Every aspect of the stay was tasteful, unique, and executed to the highest quality. In a time when so many luxury hotels tend to cut corners and compromise on guest experience to keep costs low, Belmond Caruso stands out as a rare gem. At this hotel, no expense is spared to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction. Details like the use of Ginori crockery are a testament to this commitment to excellence. From the thoughtful handwritten notes from management each day to the personalized in-room experiences where they remembered our preferences, everything made us feel genuinely cared for. One moment that truly stood out was enjoying a glass of rosé by the pool, soaking in the beauty of the property, and later returning to our suite to find a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for us. It’s these unexpected but thoughtful gestures that made the experience unforgettable and left us feeling so special. Small but meaningful touches, like treats from the kitchen when the chef had been baking or the stunning souvenir (in our case, a beautiful bottle of Limoncello) to take home, made our stay truly magical. That bottle of Limoncello is so special to us that we’ve decided to save it for our wedding day! The property itself is breathtaking—a destination in its own right—and this alone would be enough for most hotels to rest on their laurels. But not at Belmond Caruso. The team continuously pushes the boundaries to provide exceptional service, incredible food, and memorable guest experiences. Belmond Caruso is more than just a hotel; it’s a place where life’s most cherished moments are elevated to something truly extraordinary. Whether it’s a honeymoon, proposal, wedding, or other special occasion, this is the perfect setting to make a magical moment even more unforgettable. This is what it looks like when a hotel genuinely cares about its guests. Every interaction felt sincere, every detail meticulously planned, and every moment unforgettable. Roberta and the entire team at Belmond Caruso, you should be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved. You’ve set a standard that is unmatched. Every time we stay at another hotel, we find ourselves encouraging their management teams to visit Belmond Caruso to learn how to deliver even a fraction of what you offer your guests. Bravo, team! Highlights of our trip were the Staff at the Bar (head bartender shared several ideas/recipes with us for making different cocktails), breakfast with best views imaginable, rooftop pool, concierge team, Path of the Gods hike & boat trip back from Positano, and just what an amazing place this was. If you are visiting the Amalfi Coast (or even Italy for that matter), this is the place to stay!!!

We stayed in different 5-star hotels along the Amalfi Coast for a week and this was our favorite of them all. The staff was incredible, the views were phenomenal, and the attention to detail was unlike any other. We were also upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the Coast and ended up canceling some of our plans outside the hotel because it was just too amazing to leave!

Excellent location,superlative view, the entire staff provided outstanding service, lunch at the grill was super,special mention to the chef Armando and the restaurant team, don't miss the infinity pool..fantastic experience!!!!!

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Nicolo at the front desk reconfigured our excursions and restaurant reservations multiple times due to some inclement weather. He did so in good humor and a smile. Our lovely and spacious room overlooked the sea with a terrace that we enjoyed sitting out on....

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Nicolo at the front desk reconfigured our excursions and restaurant reservations multiple times due to some inclement weather. He did so in good humor and a smile. Our lovely and spacious room overlooked the sea with a terrace that we enjoyed sitting out on. The hotel was convenient to anywhere you want to travel on foot in Ravello. We utilized both of the complementary transports- the shuttle to Amalfi as well as the boat trip along the Amalfi Coast which was our favorite activity during our time in Italy. The lunches at the spectacular pool, provided by the Caruso Grill Kitchen, were some of our best meals this trip. The staff at the pool and the evening Caruso bar just wonderful. This was amongst our priciest hotel stays but was totally money well spent.

We stayed for my wife’s 50th birthday and had a wonderful experience. The staff were amazingly helpful, the food, pool and whole estate was immaculate. A great base to explore Ravello. The breakfast view out across the Amalfi Coast was stunning.

Our pre-dinner drinks were served in the fabulous whisky bar, which were accompanied by a scintillating selection of hors d'oeuvres.. We were then shown to our table, which was in the grill restaurant overlooking the stunning Amalfi coast, lit up by street lighting. We were attended to by the staff who first class. The food we had was simply exquisite, as was the accompanying wine. It was the perfect end to our holiday. I would thoroughly recommend dining in the hotel, despite the hefty bill.

It's hard to say enough good things about Hotel Caruso, one of my favorite destinations in the world. My husband I have visited three times now (having vowed that we would celebrate our honeymoon there, every 5 years!). From the views, to the amazingly comfortable rooms, food and drink, the pool, to the staff everything has been 5 stars every time. We adore Tomaso who we met 10 years ago as a bartender, a true gem who is so attentive and consistently excellent. The pool and front desk staff were also particularly amazing this past time! We will be back!

It would take perfection to get a 5 rating and it fell short for me at luxury status. We booked the deluxe sea view room with balcony (picture attached of expectation of room) and our room was different than advertised. It was still nice but the stone ceiling accent would’ve been amazing and warranted the nightly price. We did also have a safe issue which was fixed same day. Then the next day our friends had an issue with their safe as well. Luckily, we had each others functioning different days so we shared while we went sightseeing with scheduled guides. We did appreciate the welcoming and turndown treats left in our room. They were a nice touch. Another area needing improvement was breakfast. Service was slow. We also felt a bit insulted when on our last morning we were asked if it was our first breakfast there. The breakfast itself was good especially being able to order off a menu for hot items. Unfortunately, the same items were out on the cold buffet every day- no variation. As well as only having one attendant in this room to serve items in cases. We were never offered to have bread cut for us like others. Elevated service was hit or miss in general here. The Central Bar was a great place for cocktails although great service was lacking several visits. Grounds are impeccable with plenty of outdoor seating. Pool is gorgeous. Front desk staff super friendly. Concierge was very responsive before our stay to help arrange things to do during our visit. We did however have a mix up one night. We booked an hour stop in Furore before a winery tasting there only to find out from the driver that there was nowhere to walk around as there was no town square / shopping there. So we paid for an extra hour for the driver for nothing. Concierge should’ve explained more regarding Furore and the lack of walkable sightseeing. Location is great for walking to Ravello town center / square and to several dinner places just outside the square. We felt safe walking to and from dinner. If ever in Ravello again, I would stay here but because of these few mishaps at this level of luxury and pricing I can only give a 4.5 rating.
