What to Pack for Your Honeymoon

We frequently get asked what to pack for your honeymoon or next romantic adventure, so we decided to share some ideas to help you pack just what you need! Start making that list..

When packing for your honeymoon it is important to have a check list in addition to a few little secrets that will make your wardrobe go further without bursting out of your bag. These are just a few must-pack items:

  • Toiletries:
    Makeup bag

+Shampoo & conditioner (in travel size containers)
+Hair appliances (+adapters), gel or spray, hair ties & clips, brush.
    +Razor, shaving gel & moisturizers.
    +Birth control/feminine products.
+Mini plastic bags filled with various medications: Imodium, Aspirin or Advil, a gentle laxative (just in case), a water pill, vitamins.
+Q tips, cotton balls (your hotel may have this)
+Makeup products (waterproof if you are going to a humid locale)
    +Perfume & deodorant.
    +Nail polish (to touch up)

  • Clothing:

+At least two bathing suits (if you are not going tropical, one suit is fine)
+Sexy PJs and lingerie (hello, it’s your honeymoon!!)
+One formal dress (unless your vacation has more then one formal evening planned!)
+A chic, fashionable hat to protect your face from UV rays.
+For every pair of shorts you pack, include 2 shirts with it.
+One pair of pants along with two tops.
    +Three sundresses.
+One or two jackets or sweaters in case of cold weather.
+Sandals for the beach, walking shoes for the city, and at least one pair of heels or flats for a romantic dinner.

  • Don’t Forget:

+Bring a fold up beach/travel bag (even if you are not going tropical, pack this extra bag so you have something to take extra purchases home!)
+Leave a contact list to whomever is watching your house.  This way they can always contact you in case of an emergency.
+Download an area map and save important hotel phone numbers and addresses when you have WiFi.
+Traveling overseas? Make sure you research if converters are needed and pack adapters accordingly. The last thing you want is a dead battery in that camera.
+Don’t start your honeymoon hanging around the luggage carousel trying to find your bag among others. Mark your suitcase with something unique like a colored ribbon or a luggage tag that will make it stand out from the others. Also, make sure your luggage is labeled, including your address, in the off chance that the luggage gets lost.
+Bring important items on your carry on, such as key documents (tickets, confirmations, itineraries, contact information), medications, change of clothes, reading materials and maybe even some snacks.
+Keep emergency contacts & doctor information with you, and have a detailed list of you and your partner’s medications.
+Keep a secret stash of cash hidden on you at all times, along with copies of your passport & travel documents.
    +Your sunglasses!
+Ziplock bags – they aren’t just for lunches any more. Hitting the beach? Throw your electronics in one to keep them safe from the elements. Packing up, but not sure what to do with that wet swimsuit? Place it in a bag to keep your remaining clothes nice and dry.

  • Romantic Must-haves:
    Selfie Stick

+Try a scented candle to heat things up…
+Sunscreen and aloe vera. Avoid too much sun or you risk getting a bad burn. If you do get burned, apply the aloe vera to soothe your skin and heal as fast as possible.
+Chapstick or lipgloss with SPF. You do not want to spend your honeymoon with sunburned lips!
+A selfie stick, camera or video camera.  If you plan on being alone and want to capture honeymoon memories together, then don’t miss the x-shot, the portable photo saver.

We hope these ideas help. Check back often for more great packing tips!
