Add World Traveller Plus To Your Passport

Yes, it’s always great to go first class – but British Airways has a NEW way of traveling. British Airways’ World Traveller Plus is a great way to fly – I recently took it roundtrip from New York to Heathrow to Paris, and it made the experience all the more wonderful.

Here’s my tip: Ask for seats 28F, E or D. You will be upfront in the first row of World Traveller Plus, and ultra comfortable. When you board – Priority Boarding of course – you can enter your seat row to the sound of soothing music, and your seat will be outfitted with headphones, pillow and blanket. Next comes a delightful meal – for example, a starter of Mediterranean couscous salad, main course of grilled sea bass or miso-marinated beef, and dessert of chocolate and orange mousse plus cheese and crackers. Afternoon tea is served prior to arrival including juice, tea and coffee. Customers can also enjoy bar service while watching on-demand movies on their personal TV screens.

What I truly appreciated about this class of special service on British Airways is how comfortable I was. The cost of my ticket was about $2,000 and for that I not only received comfort, but I attained Priority boarding, and the ability to check two bags for free. As the flight was full, BA also checked my other (third) bag complimentary, as they were not sure they would be enough space available in the overhead compartments. I breezed through Heathrow with just one small carry-on bag, and was able to shop. (Don’t miss the Ted Baker shop offering gorgeous English designer goods at reasonable prices, when compared to other high-end designers.)

On the flight over, I had ordered a delicious lowfat meal of veggies, chicken and salad (the usual cost for that is about $23). And if you wanted to choose your seat far in advance( before the night before your flight), there’s a charge for that as well – so be forewarned.

The TV programming was excellent including things to Watch, Listen and Play featuring new releases and movies and video favorites. Now if you can get a lie-flat bed for the long-haul, I always recommend that, but the next best thing is this special Economy class.

Just sitting on the plane listening to BA’s signature sound – “Lemke” by Delibes – was soothing and special.

British Airways is always offering great deals and packages on flights/hotel from US gateways to London and select European destinations including Paris, Dublin, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Rome and Madrid – all great honeymoon destinations.

Happy Honeymooning!
