El Rancho de las Golondrinas

Property Overview

Welcome to a historic journey in a desert valley just south of Santa Fe. El Rancho de las Golondrinas, or "Ranch of the Swallows," takes visitors back to the Spanish southwest where you might smell baking bread in clay mound-ovens or see rugged frontiersmen hitching their horses for a stop into the general store for dried meats and petlts. Once the final stop on a famous route to Santa Fe, El Rancho de las Golondrinas is a piece of history preserved for curious modern eyes. Today, it's a perfect stop for curious couples with an interest in learning about the strange and rich history of America's old western frontier on their honeymoon in New Mexico.

Some of the colonial buildings date from the early 18th century and the ranch takes visitors back to more dangerous and romantic times. Honeymooners can take a wagon ride through the ranch to see what life was like back in the dusty days of the Spanish and Mexican colonial west. Fruit orchards, "placita" houses with defense towers, a molasses mill, a blacksmith, water mills, herb gardens, vineyards, a meeting house and much more.

Take a historic honeymoon in New Mexico and bask in the romance and excitement of the wild west at El Rancho de las Golondrinas !
