Cook Islands Nightlife
The Cook Islands nightlife has none of the bustling bar scene or hard-party nightclub districts of some other honeymoon destinations. It’s a quieter, more local kind of scene, which is why many couples honeymoon in the Cook Islands in the first place. Still, there are enough bars, pubs, restaurants and dancing to keep couples busy for an entire honeymoon, and all with a strong dash of local flair.
Most of the nightlife is on the islands of Aitutaki and Rarotonga. Many places are oen until 2 am, but because most close at midnight on Saturdays, Friday nights tend to see the biggest parties.
Bars and pubs in Cook Island’s towns are usually clustered close to each other, so you don’t have to go across a whole island to finish an evening of nightlife hopping. There are island-style bars, live traditional music, Pacific-style BBQ feasts and gorgeous evening hangouts with stunning ocean views.
Many resorts offer nightlife pub crawls that will let you mingle with other tourists and locals and drink, dance and flirt the night away at all the best local spots. Of course, you can always pick -and-choose the nightlife you want to experience and design your own evening adventure.
