More Berlin Nightlife
If you’re a couple who thinks that the most important part of the day happens after dark, Berlin is the perfect place for you. After the sun goes down, anything goes! Berlin has always been famous for nightlife, both traditional and bawdy. Name your brand of nighttime fun and you’ll find it here.
After dinner, couples with a cultural bent can visit a museum, climb to the top of the Parliament or enjoy a symphony, play or opera. Sports lovers can play mini golf on a spiffy phosphorescent course or go go-karting. Everything from chic jet set bars and clubs to places where you might be asked to remove your clothes before entering is available.
An energetic bar scene begins any time after 11 p.m. If you like to dance the night away, there are plenty of spots that will welcome you. Night clubs ramp up around 1:00 a.m. and keep the beat going until dawn. You can even choose a club to match your favorite kind of music! Adult playgrounds where you can float in a shell shaped tub with roses and champagne, then treat yourselves to a couples’ massage also abound.
You may want to take a nightclub tour before attempting to plan your own night on the town. Rent a limo to take the two of you to a number of bars and clubs (www.berlinlimo.com) to find your favorite spots. Many clubs have unmarked doors or long entry lines.
Check with your concierge for hours of operation and admittance policies before you go. The dress code is usually upscale casual. Generally, the better you dress and behave, the more likely you are to be admitted to whatever place you want to enter.
- SPINDLER & KLATT.
This restaurant/club is housed in an old warehouse on the banks of the Spree River. The lively dining area turns into a dance club at midnight, or starts out as one at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It features lounge beds to sprawl (or dine!) on an outdoor deck with a view of the river and disco music that rocks until dawn. A healthy mix of locals and tourists seem to love it. You will too, especially in summer.

Soaring ceilings, huge glittering chandeliers, and a castle-like decor make this giant club electric. You can be alone in the crowd or stake out your spot on the dance floor to become part of the good time. This is the place to don those stilettos, look your best and enjoy the fun.

- DRINK & DANCE WITH A VIEW.
Several places offer sleek bars with spectacular views. Try PURO SKY LOUNGE, a chic rooftop club (You should dress up for this one!); 40 SECONDS, a penthouse restaurant and bar that turns the dance music on after dinner and offers a 365-degree view of the city (Celebrities love it here!); or SOLAR, an elegant sky lounge where Berlin spreads out below you.
It may be difficult to get in on weekends, but the wait is worth it and will be shorter if you are well dressed. Two stories of eclectic music and dancing have floor-to-ceiling windows with a wonderful view of the river. DJs from the world over appear year ‘round, and in the summer you can dine and dance on an outdoor terrace. This club’s upscale, upbeat fun begins at midnight Wednesday to Saturday.
