- APPLETON ESTATE.
Jamaica’s premier brand of rum is made right on the island at Appleton Estate, Jamaica’s oldest distillery. Their tours shows you all the estate’s history, rum-making facilities, and how sugarcane grown right on-site is turned into the favorite liquour of pirates everywhere. Pick up a few bottles to take home, including varieties that aren’t sold anywhere else. Oh, and better book a car for this one – the end of the tour will have you tasting as much rum as you can handle!

- BEACH TREASURES.
Jamaica is full of surprises. The longest stretch of sand along the South Coast is one of them. Known as Treasure Beach, it features tranquil, atmospheric beaches with black and coral-colored sand, rocky outcroppings and secluded coves. Another great option is Bluefields Beach, along the South Coasts’ main highway. It’s free, picturesque, and great for swimming when the sea isn’t too rough. With a stretch of coast as long as southern Jamaica’s, couples can try a new beach along the southern shore every day until they find the perfect one.
- PETER TOSH MAUSOLEUM.
Bob Marley may be the better-known name, but reggae afficionados know that Peter Tosh was also one of the founding members of legendary reggae group The Wailers, and his resting place is in the quiet South Coast town of Belmont. Simple and unadorned, his mausoleum suggests a small donation – for music-crazy couples, a small price for the chance to pay your respects.

- BLACK RIVER SAFARI CRUISE.
Take a ride down the Black River, where colorful birds and scaly crocodiles play in the mangroves and jungle-lined mountains tower in the backrond…a tour on the Black River is a must-do while you’re on your South Coast honeymoon. If you’re up for it, you might even get to hold a baby croc! Adventure honeymooners who want to be closer to the water (and the action) can book a kayak tour, tubing trip or up the intensity with some whitewater rafting.
- HIGH MOUNTAIN COFFEE FACTORY.
Coffee-crazy couples can tour one of Jamaica’s main coffee factories, where plantations send their crop to be turned into those grind-ready beans famous since ancient times for their ability to make us awake and alert. It’s a fun outing for Starbucks addicts and java nuts!
