Montego Bay Nightlife
More Montego Bay Nightlife
Most Montego Bay resorts, especially all inclusives, have excellent evening entertainment ranging from great bars, chic lounges with live music, and wild dinner shows featuring everything from dancers to fire breathers.
Outside of the resort ngihtlife scene, much of Montego Bay’s action-after-dark used to be focused around the city’s coastal Gloucester Avenue “Hip Strip,” a stretch of bars, discos and restaurants where tourists and locals alike flocked to party after dark.
The area is a bit less happenin’ than it used to be, but popular spots like Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville can still be found there, and there are plenty of other options if you want to take your dining, dancing and romancing outside of your resort. Take a look at some of our favorite places!
- BLUE BEAT JAZZ & BLUES BAR.
The Blue Beat Jazz & Blues Bar is the perfect place to be dressed up to enjoy the view along with martinis, live jazz and the blues. With a modern design and an upscale aura, it’s one of the most sophisticated places for a date night in Montego Bay, and definitely where “the beautiful people” go to drink and mingle.
Address: Gloucester Bay Hip Strip next to Margaritaville
- PIER ONE.
This is known as one of the trendiest, most fun places to be seen out after dark in Montego Bay, so come for the dinner, hang out for the drinks and stay for the dancing! Pier One overlooks the harbor and the city, making for a waterfront setting with fabulous vistas. After dinner, it turns into an all night party with awesome live musicians and DJ’s, club lights and sound, and multiple bars.

- MARGARITAVILLE, MONTEGO BAY.
Massive Margaritas, theme parties, all-you-can-drink nights, a 120 ft. waterslide, and floating trampolines…there just isn’t another bar on earth like Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville. Family restaurant by day and wild club by night, it is a brand known worldwide for fun in the sun and drinks and dancing all night long when the moon takes over. Release your inner child, add alcohol, and you have Margaritaville after dark.
Margaritaville sets a carefree mood, draws party people and lets your night take on a life of its own. The ambiance isn’t exactly romantic, but it’s as fun as any restaurant or disco that you’ve ever visited. It extends from its own pier with a dining and relaxation deck suspended over a mini-waterpark. This is a popular and touristy spot, so expect drinks to be on the expensive side.

Located right on the Hip Strip, this is usually a relaxed, run-of-the-mill sports bar with a diverse crowd of locals and tourists. But, if you stay until way after the sun goes down, you’ll see the scene get edgier by the minute. After 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. there’s hardly a tourist in sight and the place starts to get wild. It’s fun no matter when you go, but if you’re interested in seeing a genuine Jamaican party, stay until the wee hours. Live music nights (Saturday and Sunday) are recommended, but karaoke lovers can hone their craft on Tuesdays and Fridays.
