Top Ten Reasons For A Destination Wedding In Spain

Ibiza Spain

Thinking about getting married abroad and haven’t decided where yet? Spain is one of the most popular wedding destinations in the latest years and it is not difficult to guess why. Here’s a special guest post from Leticia Campos of Maud Design, one of our favorite wedding planners in Spain, of the top ten reasons for a destination wedding in Spain.

  • 10. The Sun

Spain has 360 days of sun per year, so there is no need to worry about the rain on your Big Day. The nice weather in Spain makes that people are always in a good mood, meet on the streets, go to bars, terraces….life is on the street!

  • 9. The People

People in Spain are overall happy people. Social life is essential for Spaniards who try to meet their friends as much as they can, even during the week. Traditionally, families meet together for lunch on Sundays at parents house.

  • 8. The Fun

Day and night fun, during the week and on weekends, Spain has no schedules. Have a beer after work is very common in Spain, people don’t go home directly
from work. Any occasion is valid for celebration: a birthday, a promotion, a birth, a graduation, or just simply because it’s Thursday!

  • 7. The History

Spain has always been attractive to other cultures that have left a precious legacy in terms of monuments such as the Mosque of Cordoba, The Roman Aqueduct in Segovia, the Theaters in Málaga, the Gaudi influence in Barcelona…

  • 6. The Food

Spanish food is not only tortilla, paella and sangría, it has a wide range of
different cooking styles, from the fried fish in the South, to the fresh shellfish in the North, passing through the roasted lamb from the Center of the country.
Any where you order a beer, you will get a free tapa with it.

  • 5. The Culture

Spanish culture is well known all around the world for the party and the fun. But football also plays an important role in Spaniards life who meet together to watch the match at the bars. Spanish are authentic football fans!

  • 4. The Beach

One of the major jewels in Spain. On the east coast, we find the Mediterranean wide crowded beaches from Barcelona to Málaga. Balears Islands are basically known because of Ibiza (the party island) but Mallorca and Menorca are also beautiful destinations. Andalucía beaches are wilder and more familiar. The Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean are visited because of their volcanos and their nice weather during the whole year.

  • 3. The Nature Diversity

From the beaches on the coast to the Pyrenees at the border with France, Spain offers you a varied range of nature destinations. National Parks are all over the country and are very different one from the other. Beach, country, mountains, deserts…there is a place for all tastes!

  • 2. Live Cities

Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Málaga…Spanish cities are full of life. Not only because of the party but also because of the leisure activities: gastronomy,
museums, architecture, arts, theaters…

  • 1. Stay for some holidays

If you get married in Spain you will enjoy the food and the weather, but staying for some holidays will allow you to travel and visit more places so you can discover more of the Spanish culture!
